Brand guidelines overview

Brand guidelines are the foundation of a cohesive and recognizable Hedera identity. They ensure that every visual element, tone of voice, and communication reflects the same core values and personality, no matter who creates it or where it appears. Consistency across all touchpoints — from social media posts and advertisements to presentations and customer interactions — builds trust, reinforces recognition, and strengthens a brand’s reputation. When a brand looks, feels, and sounds the same across every channel, it becomes more memorable and credible, helping audiences form lasting emotional connections that drive loyalty and advocacy.

About Hedera

As an open source public network, Hedera aims to cultivate a collaborative environment where the ecosystem—builders, partners, customers and more–collectively help shape the narrative of Hedera as the trusted institutional-grade network powering the new digital economy.

When amplifying Hedera, users should consistently apply the brand guidelines and approved assets to ensure a unified, professional, and recognizable Hedera brand experience across all touchpoints.

Hedera primary logo

The Hedera primary logo is the cornerstone of the Hedera visual identity. As the most important symbol of the brand, the primary logo embodies the Hedera values, personality, and promise, serving as a visual anchor for all other design elements. Clear guidelines around its usage, including minimum size, spacing, color variations, and placement, ensure that the logo always appears strong, legible, and impactful, regardless of medium or context. By maintaining consistent use of the primary logo, it reinforces recognition, builds trust, and establishes a unified visual presence that audiences can easily identify.

These guidelines have been provided to the Hedera ecosystem, community of builders, ecosystem integrators and partners for Hedera usage to ensure consistency. Visit the trademark policy for more information.

Hedera builders, partners, customers and community members are encouraged to use the Hedera brand. That said, it’s incumbent upon you to also protect the Hedera brand. The Hedera trademarks and other brand features (the “Hedera marks”) are the legal property of Hedera Hashgraph, LLC (“Hedera”). When using ‘the Hedera marks’, the Trademark policy and brand guidelines (the “guidelines”) must be adhered to so that the Hedera brand maintains a consistent identity and continues to be recognized as trustworthy.

If you would like to use any of the Hedera marks in a manner that is not expressly permitted within the following guidelines, please seek prior written permission by contacting marketing@hedera.com.

How can I use the Hedera marks?

Please visit this site for access to Hedera’s brand assets, inclusive of guidance on the appropriate style, size, color, and display features when using the Hedera marks.

Use of "Hedera" in text

In all text-based content (e.g., press releases, website content, etc.) Hedera marks are adjectives. When used as part of a sentence or greater paragraph, the Hedera marks should always be followed by the generic term they modify, such as “software,” “technology”, “network,” or “platform.” Never use a Hedera mark as a noun, verb, as first person (we or our) or other part of speech. Strive to not use the Hedera marks in the plural or possessive form. You do not need to use the TM symbol with Hedera in written form.

When can I use the Hedera marks?

“Fair Use”—To truthfully identify the Hedera network, platform, and services.

These guidelines are not intended to limit any rights you may have to use the Hedera marks in a manner that is otherwise allowed by law. For example, the law permits you to make non-trademark use of the Hedera marks to truthfully refer to or identify Hedera as the company, network, and services. This means you do not need permission to write about why you like (or dislike) the Hedera technology and inform others of your opinion. When writing out Hedera in a document, presentation or social media post, the ™ symbol is not needed. It is used on professionally produced materials where the logo is used.

Services related to and/or built on the Hedera network or platform

If you offer services that are related to Hedera (for example, a wallet that accepts HBAR (ℏ) coins or support services for users of the Hedera network) or build an application on the Hedera platform, you may use the Hedera marks to truthfully describe your offering (for example, using the Hedera primary logo). However, you must not purposefully, accidentally, negligently, or inadvertently use the Hedera marks in such a way that is likely to mislead or confuse customers to believe that your offering is an official Hedera product or service, sponsored or endorsed by Hedera, or otherwise affiliated with Hedera.

For example, you may honestly market your product/service as “independent support services for Hedera network implementation,” “using Hedera for micropayments application,” “a wallet that supports HBARs,” or “Built on Hedera”.

Attribution

If you offer products or services that are related to Hedera products or services, you must provide a prominent disclaimer that your offering is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by Hedera Hashgraph, LLC.

™ symbol

The Hedera marks when used as a logo must be accompanied by the appropriate ™ symbol.

Endorsement

Don’t display the Hedera marks in any manner that might imply a relationship or affiliation with, sponsorship, or endorsement by Hedera, or that can be reasonably interpreted to suggest that any of your content has been authorized by or represents the views or opinions of Hedera.

Incorporation

Don’t incorporate the Hedera marks into your own product name, service name, trademarks, logos, company name, domain name, website title, publication title, application icon, etc. Don’t incorporate or use the Hedera logo as part of a word.

Prominence

Don’t display the Hedera marks as the primary or most prominent feature on your webpage or advertising materials. The Hedera marks should not appear directly adjacent to or in a bolder font than your company name, mark, or product/service.

Modifications

Don’t remove, distort, or alter any element of the Hedera marks. Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms out of or for the Hedera marks. The Hedera marks must be used as provided by Hedera with no modifications.

Domain names

Don’t register the Hedera marks as domain names or as any part of a domain name.

Disparaging or illegal use

Don’t use the Hedera marks in a manner that would disparage Hedera or its products or services. Don’t feature or use the Hedera marks on materials for or in connection with illegal activities.

Disclaimer

Hedera requires that you conform to these guidelines in your use of the Hedera marks and brand features. We reserve the right to modify these guidelines at any time. Your continued use of the Hedera marks and any brand features will constitute your consent to such modifications. Hedera has complete discretion in determining if your use violates any of the guidelines.

Services related to and/or built on the Hedera network or platform

However, you must not purposefully, accidentally, negligently, or inadvertently use the Hedera marks in such a way that is likely to mislead or confuse customers to believe that your offering is an official Hedera product or service, sponsored or endorsed by Hedera, or otherwise affiliated with Hedera.

For example, you may honestly market your product/service as “independent support services for Hedera network implementation,” “using Hedera for micropayments application,” “a wallet that supports HBARs,” or “Built on Hedera”.

Brand guidelines overview

Brand guidelines outline the core elements of the Hedera brand to ensure a unified presence everywhere the brand appears. Following them keeps communication consistent, recognizable, and aligned with Hedera’s values.

These guidelines have been provided to the Hedera ecosystem, community of builders, ecosystem integrators and partners for Hedera usage to ensure consistency.

Logo

Hedera primary logo

The Hedera primary logo is the cornerstone of the Hedera visual identity. As the most important symbol of the brand, the primary logo embodies the Hedera values, personality, and promise, serving as a visual anchor for all other design elements. Clear guidelines around its usage, spacing, color variations, and placement, ensure that the logo always appears strong, legible, and impactful, regardless of medium or context. By maintaining consistent use of the primary logo, it reinforces recognition, builds trust, and establishes a unified visual presence that audiences can easily identify.

Primary logo usage

The primary logo carries both the Hedera ™ name and the Hedera H logomark.  As the primary logo, this should be used first (not the stacked version which is secondary). This orientation facilitates seamless integration with wider layouts, resulting in a harmonious and expansive visual presence.

Hedera logo

Color and backgrounds

The primary logo is black and the reverse is white (i.e. for use on black backgrounds). However, a transparent version has been provided for use on solid colors and not patterns. To ensure consistency, it is recommended that the primary Hedera palette (especially the gradient) be used as the background color.

Hedera horizontal logo

Bounding space

The Hedera logo and icon can be used strategically, but should always appear as a standalone element with bounding space that equals the H in the logomark. The ™ is also important to be used with the primary logomark.

Hedera logomark

The Hedera logomark (the stand-alone H in a circle) or icon can also be used without the Hedera name. This logomark is also used to represent HBAR on third-party exchanges, in navigation as favicons, on social media channels, and more.

The primary logomark is black and the reverse is white (i.e. for use on black backgrounds). However, a transparent version has been provided for use on solid colors and not patterns. To ensure consistency, it is recommended that the primary Hedera palette (especially the gradient) be used as the background color.

Hedera secondary stacked logo

The logo and wordmark also create a powerful visual statement in a stacked orientation, however, this should be a secondary choice to the horizontal logo lock-up.

The stacked logo should be used sparingly and in situations where vertical space is restricted, such as narrow columns, mobile apps, or smaller printed materials. This format provides a compact and vertically oriented representation of the brand, ensuring legibility and impact within limited dimensions.

Bounding space

The Hedera secondary stacked logo can be used strategically, but should always appear as a standalone element with bounding space that equals the H in the logomark. The ™ is also important to be used with the primary logomark (note–this is not needed in written form).

Currency symbol

The currency symbol is a lowercase, italicized HBAR (ℏ). The Hedera cryptocurrency is denoted as "HBARs", akin to representing U.S. dollars and similar to how USD is written. It can be used both within a circle and without.

Hedera Council also has a logo which leverages the Hedera name and violet color from the secondary Hedera palette. A black, white and transparent version is also available. Importantly, the icon when used alone as a favicon or on socials is the violet color to differentiate from the Hedera icon.

Typography

Typography is another device that when used consistently can create brand consistency and familiarity. Hedera utilizes the Styrene font family, a primary sans-serif, to establish the brand's tone. Styrene A Light, Styrene A being the licensed font of Hedera. Please note that Hedera offers a replacement font–Montesserat– for use by non-designers in presentations and word document templates. Both are used in a variety of weights.

Examples of the two fonts can be found below:

Content creation

As an open-source network, Hedera welcomes and supports community-driven content. From threads and tutorials to videos and social graphics, community work expands awareness, helps people understand the technology, and shows what decentralized innovation can do in the real world.

Imagery matters as much as logos, color, and type. A consistent visual style across social, events, web, and print builds Hedera brand recognition and trust over time. When creating new materials, it’s encouraged to follow the ‘look and feel’ of hedera.com to keep everything aligned.

More templates and community-ready imagery are coming soon. Please reach out to marketing@hedera.com if there is a specific question or need.

Hello future

Hello future is one of Hedera’s core brand narratives, expressing a future built on digital trust and innovation. It is used to unify messaging and visuals across touch points, and to signal Hedera’s role in shaping the future digital economy.

The Hello uses the Hedera logomark as the “H” in Hello and future is lower case. It is always written as Hello future in sentence case. The Hedera ecosystem is encouraged to use this in written form. The branded version with the Hedera logomark is used only by Hedera and not available for download.

Using ℏ as the ‘H’ in Hello creates inconsistency and is discouraged.

06

Iconography

Hedera utilizes a robust library of custom illustrated icons to visually orient the audience around complex ideas. This  bespoke iconography is modeled on its logomark. Similar to this mark, each icon is delineated by an outer circle and contains artwork within that follows the geometric proportions of the Hedera symbol. The results is icons that are simple yet familiar, representing numerous topics from basic ideas to technical features to more abstract concepts.  The line weight of the iconography is based on the font weight of Styrene A Light, Styrene A being the licensed font of Hedera.
